We have a massive milestone to celebrate! 2026 marks the 20th Anniversary of the World Cup Cafe & Fair Trade Market. For two decades, this corner has created local jobs and neighborhood economic development, and supported global artisans on their path out of poverty.
To honor this milestone, join us on Sunday, November 8, 2026, for a special anniversary screening of Sironia! This independent feature film Sironia was shot right here in Waco, and we are bringing it right back to where it all started.
Guess who is coming back to celebrate with us? We are also thrilled to welcome Wes Cunningham—the film's lead actor and our very first World Cup Cafe manager as well as the film’s co-writer and director, Brandon Dickerson.
🗓️ THE ANNIVERSARY SCHEDULE (Sunday, Nov 8, 2026):
- ☕ 9:00 AM – 3:00 PM: The Cafe & Market are open for normal daytime business! Stop by early for brunch or coffee to kick off our 20th-year celebration.
- 🎬 3:30 PM: Screening of Sironia at the Jubilee Theater (1319 N. 15th Street—right next door).
- 🎤 Immediately Following: A live 30-minute Q&A session with Wes Cunningham and Brandon Dickerson.
- 👋 Post-Film Meet & Greet: Mingle with Wes and Brandon next door!
Admission is completely pay-what-you-wish and all proceeds will support World Cup Cafe & Fair Trade Market. We want our entire neighborhood to celebrate 20 years together. If you can be extra generous, every single dollar raised goes directly toward physical and equipment upgrades for the cafe and market, ensuring we can serve Waco for another 20 years.
